The Planning Commission Will Hold a Public Hearing on Proposed Cannabis Regulations
A Message from Town Manager, Jeremy Dennis:
Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, February 7th, as the Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on proposed regulations for commercial cannabis activities within the town limits. The Planning Commission will meet at 7 pm in the Historic Schoolhouse, located at 765 Portola Road.
Last December, the Planning Commission established a Subcommittee to review the Town’s current ordinances to determine whether they are sufficient or if additional regulations are necessary to respond to potential applications for commercial cannabis activities.
The Subcommittee will present their recommendation to the Commission that a new ordinance be adopted that bans most commercial cannabis activity within the Town. The new Ordinance would ban dispensaries and retail sales, but allow limited cultivation in certain areas, provided comprehensive safeguards and requirements are met.
We invite you to add your voice to the discussion by attending the Commission meeting. If you’re unable to attend, please email your comments to Arly Cassidy, Interim Planning Director, at email@example.com by Tuesday, February 6th, 5 pm. Your written comments will be shared with the Planning Commissioners.
The Planning Commission's agenda will be available on Friday, February 2nd, in the late afternoon. To view the agenda when it is posted, please see the link: http://bit.ly/2rGf3pU
