November 5, 2013 Consolidated Municipal Election
The next scheduled municipal election will be held November 5, 2013 when voters will elect three Town Council members. The three Council seats up for election this year are due to expiring terms for Mayor John Richards and Councilmembers Maryann Derwin and Ted Driscoll. Council seats are for a 4-year term which means the three open seats will expire in December 2017. Additionally, the Town's Utility Users' Tax will also be presented to the voters for re-approval.
Interested residents may request information and nomination papers from the Town Clerk Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 765 Portola Road. The Candidates Seminars and a Data Seminar will be held on a date yet to be determined at the Elections Office at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo. We will update this web page as additional information becomes available.

Portola Valley Elections
Portola Valley has five elected officials, the Town Council members, each serving four-year terms with elections held in November as needed in odd-numbered years. At the end of each calendar year, the mayor is appointed by the Council from among its members.
