Alpine Road Trail Improvements

Town SealThe Town will be performing planned improvements to the Alpine Road asphalt path (aka Dwight Crowder Path/C-1 Trail) and creek stabilization work on Alpine Road. This improvement project includes:

  • resurfacing parts of the existing path
  • installing new sections of path
  • removing sections of path
  • installing a pedestrian bridge
  • landscaping work
  • road and creek bank stabilization work

The project will involve the mobilization of multiple contractors and utility companies in preparation for the work.

With the limited work space and safety, the entire path or sections of it will need to be closed intermittently during the course of the project. Signs will be posted along the trail notifying users of specific closure dates, and major work may involve closing the trail for longer periods of time. Please note that the dirt trail located across the street will remain open for all to use.

This project has completed the Town's review processes, involving various committees, commissions, and the Town Council. Weather permitting, the work is scheduled to last 5-6 months with completion anticipated by the end of 2011.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation. For questions or comments, please contact the Town's Public Works Department at (650) 851-1700 ext. 216 or via email
