Portola Valley has a variety of events for residents to enjoy. There are classes at Town Center, adults' and children's sporting leagues, educational events at the Portola Valley Library, and cultural events at The Sequoias. Summer in Portola Valley is ushered in with the annual Town Picnic, an annual event that is kicked off with the Zot's to Tots 2.2 mile run, a fun run for all ages from the Alpine Inn (formerly known as Rossotti's or "Zots" to locals) to the Town Center Little People's Park (Tots). Portola Valley's annual Blues & Barbecue event is held at Town Center every September. This annual cookout combines barbecue, live music, pony rides, a climbing wall, silent auction, and other fun activities to help raise money for the Town's Open Space fund. Watch for the return of this fun summer event in 2012.
