Portola Valley Farmers' Market - Thursdays 2 to 5 pm (Rain or Shine)

Note: Thanksgiving week, the market will take place on Wednesday in lieu of Thursday!

News of the week:

 * Roli Roti is bringing back the potatoes! Hot rotisserie chicken with piping hot, crispy & delicious fingerling potatoes (and roasted Brussels sprouts too).

 * PV Bread is baking rain or shine so dust off the raincoat and come on down to the market!

Also, last minute special offering this week only!!

There are 20 total Roli Roti turkey breasts available for pre-order, pick-up is 2 to 5pm at the Wednesday, 11/26 market. These are made from free-range local turkey stuffed with a chestnut and wild rice dressing. This 3-pound roast is $30. To preorder one: You can email maggie at maggiefoard@mac.com or see her at market on Thursday (Maggie will be in the fudge booth :). Orders for these turkey breasts must be in by this Thursday close of market. Very limited quantities, first come, first serve.

 

This week's offerings!

  • Victorian Farmstead still has a few turkeys available. Contact www.vicmeats.com or see Russell on Thursday to order for 11/26.
  • Sunrise Farms has pomegranates, satsumas, fuji apples, and 3 varieties of persimmons. Check the website later this week for the recipe for Bacon-wrapped Persimmons!
  • Haley's Sausage Co. will be there this week (but not 11/26) and has loads of sausage varieties for your special stuffing recipes.
  • Sinbad Catering has salads and sides, delicious vegetarian dips and spreads.
  • Be sure to load up on onions and celery at the market this week for your fresh homemade turkey stuffing.
  • One Ocean Seafood has limited quantities of whole, cracked crab at the market now. You can order ahead by emailing Patrick at 1oceanseafood@gmail.com
  • Old Dog Ranch has walnuts halves in seasonal flavors like  Whiskey-Spice, Mexican Chocolate, Rosemary, Maple and more.
  • City Baking has rosemary loaves, olive bread, sandwich breads for that leftover turkey and lots of goodies for Thanksgiving morning!
  • Dobson & Clarke has seasonal jams and jellies, applesauces, sambal oolek, seasonal pickles, sauerkraut and the OMG persimmon butter!
  • Namesake Cheesecake makes a terrific special occasion dessert. Ask Cherith about whole cheesecake options for next week.
  • Love Morsels has delicious holiday fruitcakes and also new - delicious crisp crackers perfect for serving with holiday cheese or dessert platter.
  • High Note has the perfect coffee to serve with your holiday dessert. Oscar would love to help you pick one out.
  • Nut 'n Bean has go-to dips and spreads for easy appetizers. Have you tried their new mustards?
  • Olives and tapenades and freshly made pastas at the Homemaid Ravioli booth.
  • Flourchylde Bakery has whole pumpkin-yam pies, cherry almond cakes, pumpkin cake, pure chocolate and loads of other flavors. Thanksgiving is the perfect excuse to order your favorite in a whole cake (Whole pies and cakes are 8" and serve 8). Ask Todd about placing an order for next Wednesday!
  • Fudge, truffles or tantalizing toffee makes the final touch on the dessert table.

 

Crafts this week:

 * Route One Pumpkins, featuring handmade soaps, lotions and body products made with local, organic hand pressed pumpkin seed oils.

 * EcoGirl Handbags - Jen creates gorgeous one of a kind handbags out of recycled fabrics and leather belts. Each bag has it's own personality.
