Incorporated in 1964, the Town of Portola Valley is a General Law City, operating under a Council-Mayor form of governance.

An ancient proverb says, "In the multitude of counselors there is accomplishment." With over 100 town volunteers serving in a variety of capacities, the Town of Portola Valley has no shortage of counselors who work along with the Town's small staff to perform the necessary functions of a municipal government.

Town meetings are held in the Historic Schoolhouse at Town Center, 765 Portola Road, unless otherwise indicated on the Calendar and/or meeting agenda.

For more information on how to volunteer to serve on one of the Town's committees or commissions, please visit our Volunteer Opportunities webpage. To receive e-notification of upcoming Council, Commission or Committee meetings, please visit our Subscribe to Notices webpage.
