Coastal Cleanup Day is just over a week away, so remember to sign up for your favorite location now before spaces fill up! Join thousands of other volunteers in San Mateo County to clean up our watersheds, shorelines, and beaches.

Below are a few last minute tips to help you prepare:

1)Download the waiver form available on the site page and sign it ahead of time! Remember, all children under the age of 18 must have a waiver form signed by their parent or guardian.

2) If you are motivated to help beyond cleaning up, your site captain may be able to use you to help pass out waivers, give safety talks, or weigh and estimate trash that comes in. Your site captain will have a safety vest on, so find them and ask!

3) You can save resources by bringing your own bucket and gloves instead of using single-use plastic bags or gloves provided.

4) Prize Alert! For attendees bringing their bucket, share a photo with us to be automatically entered to win an Eco Prize Bucket. Use the hashtag #CleanupSMC on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to post your photos.

5) For your own safety, please bring a hat, sunscreen, and light wind gear. If you can bring a reusable water bottle filled with water, some sites will be able to refill it for you if need be.
