Visit the Portola Valley Predators Day event on Sunday afternoon, March 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Portola Valley Town Center, 765 Portola Rd.
There will be live and preserved creatures such as mountain lions, skunks, bobcats, bats, snakes, owls, and hawks which we commonly think of as predators. However, there will also be some creatures that you may not think of as predators, such as ladybugs and mosquito fish.
There will be experts to give information on how to safely live with our local predators and to explain how these animals control pests such as mice and rats as well as mosquitoes and moths, while also keeping the deer population at a healthy level.
So, come dissect an owl pellet, bring home a friendly predator, and learn how to make a bat house.
The event is sponsored by the Town’s Nature and Science Committee and is completely free.
