Portola Valley Farmers' Market, a year 'round Thursday event
Last week of regular hours 2 to 6 pm
(The time change happens this weekend. Next week, our market hours change to 2 to 5 pm for the remainder of winter)
All produce, specialty foods and crafts are locally grown, produced and/or handmade by our market vendors.
THIS WEEK 11/3:
Fruits & Veggies:
* JSM Organics has confirmed for tomorrow so Javier, the owner will be bringing strawberries and blackberries, last of the summer squashes, assorted veggies and even flowers!
* Smit Farm is bringing organic apples (3 varieties of Fuji, Honey Crisp and Pink Lady), dried apricots & cherries, walnuts, almonds and pistachios...and fresh juices made from all organic Smit Farm fruit.
* Sunrise Farm has super delicious Valencia oranges, Asian pears, persimmons, pomegranates, grapes and late season plums. Mandarins are coming in next week followed by other citrus.
* Field of Greens has a wide variety of veggies including onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower, sunchokes (Jeruselum artichokes), spring mix, arugula and hearts of romaine.
* RC Greens has microgreens - basil, cilantro, spicy mixed, pea shoots, mizuna, mustard, sunflower and more. Stop and nibble on the possibilities. Great for sandwiches, salads, wraps and appetizers.
* Windy Hill and Crescent Farm have local free-range farm eggs. Skyline Honey has a delicious variety of honey from the local hills. Stop and sample some : )
Other good stuff:
* Nut ’n Bean makes nut butters, hummus and vegan cashew/almond spreads, Joyous Juice fresh presses daily, Shampa Pie’s serves samples with a smile, Claire’s Granola made right up the street.
* Spoon & Spatula Bakery, King’s Mountain Baking, Flourchylde Gluten-Free Bakery, Tantalizing Toffee and Kidding Around with Chocolate (goat’s milk fudge), Vic Farmstead Meats and One Ocean Seafood.
Ready to Eat so you can skip the fuss on Thursdays:
* Sinbad Catering healthy salads, dips and entrees, Roli Roti chicken, ribs, pork knuckles and crispy, roasted fingerling potatoes.
* Mama Coco’s Cocina Mexicana - Omar makes to order tacos, burritos & burrito bowls, enchilada, a special fajitas style quesadilla, iced cold horchata and jamaica, churros made right in the booth.
Crafts:
* Dreamlight Jewlery, Earth’s Sister Handbags, Kamel (yep, it’s really camel leather!), Jen Raynes Art and Body & Soul Apothecary. Music by Moonglow.
* and the Portola Valley Library joins us with kid crafts.
NEXT WEEK 11/10:
* L’atelier du Pain, a brand new, local cottage bread bakery begins their baking adventures, baking loaves exclusively for Portola Valley FM.
* FOOD DEMO: Chef Laura Stec of Innovative Cuisine returns for another scrumptious afternoon of veggieness. Samples guaranteed to make you smile.
* KNIFE SHARPENING by Jim Adams - knives and tools sharpened while you shop!
* Coco’s Ice, that cute little pink food truck serves shaved ice with delicious artisan syrups.
* Kitchen Witch aka LaTote returns to PV for the day.
* Dogs come in all sizes and so do Noble Treats. Claudia will be back with artisan doggie biscuits. You may bring your dog up to the dog biscuit booth (samples!) but please keep dogs 20’ away from any food or produce booths. Thanks for your cooperation.
