Pedestrian Safety Study – Community Input Meeting
Thursday, December 6 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
MEETING AGENDA
765 Portola Road – In the Historic Schoolhouse
Please join the Town’s Bicycle, Pedestrian and Traffic Safety (BPTS) Committee for an opportunity to share your views on pedestrian safety in Portola Valley.
Earlier this year, the BPTS Committee visited a number of intersections in Town to hear from residents who shared their concerns about pedestrian/vehicle interactions.
Based on these meetings, Paul Krupka of Krupka Consulting has been retained by the Town to review these concerns and advise on potential road improvements to improve pedestrian safety, particularly related to school journeys.
Mr. Krupka, based on the input of the BPTS Committee, is reviewing selected intersections on Alpine and Portola Roads, as well as school zones adjacent to Corte Madera, Ormondale, the Priory, and near Windmill. He has completed his initial assessment of the Town’s pedestrian paths and infrastructure, and observed traffic patterns at multiple locations and different times of day. Mr. Krupka wants to hear directly from you to complete his understanding of existing conditions.
Your input is critical to the success of the study. The study should be finalized in early 2019 for review by the BPTS Committee and the Town Council.
