Spring Ridge/Neely Wine has submitted an application to the Town of Portola Valley to amend a conditional use permit to be able to operate a wine sale and tasting space on the vineyard’s existing property at 555 Portola Road. The site of the proposed sales and tasting space, includes an existing 2,474 SF barn located on north side of the property. There will be no structural modifications to the barn, only minimal interior changes, and ADA compatibility updates. The project proposes indoor and outdoor tasting spaces in the existing barn and patios. The barn will also include be used for limited wine case storage, tank or barrel storage, office, and a workshop.
Neely Wine would add the building as a “wine premise’ on its California ABC Winegrower license, which will allow Neely Wine will be able to sell only its own products on-site. The proposed tasting room will be accessible from Portola Road and will have a separate entrance from Windy Hill Open Space. The site plan includes use of 19 existing parking spots, development of additional parking spaces, and modifications to the fencing on the property. There will be no parking on Portola Road.
The Planning Commission approved the project with conditions on December 1, 2021.
